San Gold believes that a sustainable future depends on a strong local workforce. San Gold works closely with local communities to recruit and train local workers, building the capacity locally that San Gold will require to sustainably mine in the Rice Lake greenstone belt through the long term. To date this has been a win-win endeavor for local workers and for San Gold. A training program for residents of local communities has operated continuously since July 2005.

San Gold also recognizes the value in supporting local businesses and works with local suppliers to increase their capacity to provide reliable services and supplies at competitive prices. A large percentage of all goods and services procured for San Gold's development and operations originates within Manitoba and from local businesses.
